Wherever we went searching for a suitable title for this blog (The Well, Shades of Grey, Ding Dong Bell Pussy’s In The…. you get it), someone had been there first. So we went for something prosaic.
Not that Shades of Grey would have been at all an ill-conceived masthead. The tagline to the 2006 movie of the same name put it this way: "There is no right and wrong, there is no black and white, it's all just Shades of Grey." While we don’t totally agree with that sentiment, dealing with perception, bias and opinion as much as we do in our profession, we find a lot of the information does manifest as a shade of grey. No matter how thoroughly you search for absolutes, they seem to vaporise.
This blog will look at current events through the prism of public relations. The staff at Jackson Wells will try to cut though the perception, bias and opinion, through the tricks and tomfoolery, and through the spin and the facades. Let’s see how we go.
